Hello

I have set up a new website for Wallsend RFC at http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/wallsend/

Its a new system that quite a lot of clubs are using which automatically feeds in updated league tables and fixtures so it should overcome the problem we have had lately of things not being up to date on the site. You need to create an account to use it properly. Its packed with features that I think will be useful to the club and I think it will be a much better solution to what we currently have.

Im going to set Steve Bootland up as a webmaster on the site so he will handle the updates but if anyone else wants to help run it I can give them admin access also. Subject to approval first of course! Smiley

If everyone is happy with this new system I can look into closing down this site and using www.wallsendrfc.co.uk as the address for the new site.

Cheers
Dave

For those that aren't aware, a summer rugby clinic is arranged to run on Thursday mornings at 10:30 at Beacon hill, staffed by Andy Buist of Northumberland RFU development along with Chris Metcalfe. We have so far struggled to get much interest and are in dire need of kids to turn out. If you know of anyone with kids that could attend from approx 8 to 11yo, please pass the word on.

Also, Sunday morning coaching is going ahead throughout the summer. The sessions are being run from 10am at Beacon hill by Jimmy Wrightson, Carl Cobey and myself.
We have about 6-10 kids between 6 and 11yo who turn out regular and are starting to show some potential.

We really need to increase this number to 20 plus by October to enable us to pick up fixtures for them across different ages. The biggest worry is that if we can't get games they will become dissheartened with training and drift off to other clubs, namingly park, noves and gosforth who will gladly pick them up.

If you have yourself, or know of anyone with lads in this age range, please have a word and try to drum some interest up.

Thanks for reading,

Boots
